On July 28, 2025, ASTRI and strategic partners presented an initiative to build a smart and sustainable agricultural ecosystem in Ca Mau Province — a region facing the twin challenges of climate change and increasingly severe saltwater intrusion.
Context and Challenges
Ca Mau is Vietnams southernmost province, with over 254km of coastline and the countrys largest aquaculture area. However, climate change poses serious challenges including deepening saltwater intrusion, extreme weather events reducing shrimp yields, and lack of digital infrastructure in farming zone management.
Integrated Technology Solution
ASTRI and partners propose deploying the Glorin technology platform integrating three core technologies: IoT for real-time environmental monitoring, Blockchain for product traceability, and AI/Machine Learning for early disease risk forecasting and harvest optimization.
Circular Economy Model
The ecosystem is designed on a circular economy model where by-products from shrimp farming are reused as organic fertilizer for rice, creating a closed loop that reduces input costs and limits environmental pollution.
