On November 12, 2025, the Agricultural Technology Support Research Institute (ASTRI) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Japans Futaba Sankyo Company, aiming to research, produce, and develop high-quality organic microbial fertilizers using advanced Japanese technology.
Cooperation Scope
Under the MOU, both parties will jointly implement an in-depth research program on next-generation microbial fertilizer formulations, combining Vietnams indigenous knowledge with Futaba Sankyos advanced fermentation technology — an organization with over 50 years of experience in Japan.
Strategic Direction
- Research and optimize microbial fertilizer production processes suited to Vietnamese soil conditions
- Apply Japanese fermentation technology to improve product efficacy and stability
- Support soil regeneration and restoration of beneficial soil microorganisms in degraded land
- Move toward commercial-scale production for domestic and export markets

This cooperation is a strategic step for ASTRI in promoting organic agriculture, reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers, protecting soil health, and building clean agricultural value chains in Vietnam.
